Home to the headquarters for the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) and the United States Army Forces Command (FORSCOM), North Carolina represents a great location for companies in the defense technologies sector. Within the state, the Triangle is just a short drive from the largest U.S. Army installation (Fort Bragg), the second largest U.S. Marine Corps Base (Camp Lejeune) and six other strategic military facilities. We’re also just a 45-minute flight, or four hour drive, from Washington, D.C. This proximity, combined with three Tier-1 research universities and a talented workforce, positions us to meet the technical needs of this growing industry.

North Carolina's eight military installations are projected to directly employ 540,000 military personnel, contractors and civilians in North Carolina, contributing over $30 billion. The Triangle alone is home to over 50 companies engaged in defense technologies.
