It’s on a segment of the 1,180 mile Mountains-to-Sea Trail that traverses the length of North Carolina, and part of greater Raleigh’s nearly 186 miles of greenways. Hike through forests and nature trails at the popular William B. Umstead State Park or paddle the Neuse River Canoe Trail.

After that, make your way over to the Neuse River Greenway Trail, which offers scenic views of the Neuse River, winding boardwalk areas through wetlands, historical sights, interpretive signs, and agricultural fields. Find your escape in the heart of Raleigh at Dix Park. Enjoy wide-open fields, rolling meadows, shady tree groves and a variety of programs and events. Map out your perfect picnic spot, take in some great views of downtown and even bring your furry friend along for a visit to the dog park!
Make your way to Chapel Hill for a visit to the Honeysuckle Tea House. The Honeysuckle Tea House serves as an open-air oasis, featuring farm-based beverages, highlighted by stunning views. If you’ve saved room for dessert, visit Maple View Farm for a scoop of your favorite ice cream and an unforgettable sunset.
