Raleigh Named #1 Best U.S. City for Renters
A recent study by U.S. News & World Report has named Raleigh the #1 best city for renters in the U.S. To determine the top city for affordability, analysts compared income data from the U.S. Census Bureau with rental information from Redfin and Zillow. Despite a growing population, rents in Raleigh have been decreasing, thanks in large part to a boom in new apartment construction and increased competition among owners eager to attract tenants. According to Zumper, the median rent for a one-bedroom apartment in Raleigh was $1,250 in December, reflecting a 3.8% drop from the previous year. The median rent for a two-bedroom apartment was $1,530, a decrease of 1.9% year-over-year. Read more about Raleigh’s ranking here.
