The Research Triangle offers companies in the life sciences industry many advantages, including access to research, customers, suppliers, support services and a skilled workforce. Looking forward, the development and adoption of combinational products is an exciting and undeniable industry trend. That being the case, locations that offer access to a wide range of technologies and industry expertise are the most likely to see significant future growth. Raleigh-Durham is the fourth top Life Science Cluster in the United States, a true testament to that point.
Wake County Economic Development created a brochure that hits the highlights of this large and diverse sector. In addition to being a good general overview, this effort represents one of the first attempts to properly map the regional cluster. An important note is that it is primarily focused on Wake County, RTP and Southern Durham County.
