One week ago, we had the honor of recognizing an amazing group of Triangle professionals. Work in the Triangle sponsored the annual Activate Good Pro Heroes Breakfast to recognize a special group of Smarty Pants and their amazing work in the community. In case you don’t know, Activate good is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting individuals, groups, and companies to volunteer needs with partnering nonprofits in the Triangle. Their ‘Pro Heroes’ are professionals who complete pro bono work for their partner organizations.
This year Activate Good had 16 participating nonprofits and matched 16 pro bono projects. A total of 24 professionals participated and contributed a total of 540-570 Volunteer hours! This came in for a grand total of $105,010 worth of Pro Bono Services provided to community causes! No wonder we call these folks heroes!
Volunteering is critical to the continued growth and success of our community; and there’s no shortage of causes and organizations to get involved with in the Triangle. The more we give back, and help provide resources to the nonprofits that help make the Triangle what it is, the more we will continue to shine!
We have an amazing community that’s full of bright, giving people; and tons of nonprofits that provide exceptional services to our community. If we continue to work together, and get more smarty pants active in our community, there’s no limit to what we can accomplish. For more information on how you can get more involved in your community, visit Activate Good’s website, Twitter feed, and Facebook page. You can also sign up to volunteer here!
